Photo with World Series Championship Ring Among Perks at Phillies Blood Drive on Saturday, August 15
08/05/2009 9:12 AM ET

The Phillies are once again teaming up with the American Red Cross to host their 5th annual blood drive on Saturday, August 15, from 6:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. at Citizens Bank Park. Because the need for blood donations is at an all-time high, the team is adding some perks to encourage fans to step up to the plate and help save lives.

All presenting donors that day will have the rare opportunity to take a photo wearing an authentic 2009 World Series Championship ring (must bring own camera), as well as receive a Phillies limited edition collectible print. Presenting donors that day will also receive an exclusive behind-the-scenes tour of Citizens Bank Park and a special ticket discount for a future Phillies game, plus have the chance to mingle with the Phillie Phanatic and Phillies Ballgirls.

To date, fans have donated nearly 3,500 units of blood at Phillies Blood Drives - ultimately providing a second chance for over 10,600 lives. The American National Red Cross honored the Phillies with the 2008 Dr. Charles Drew Heritage Award for Blood Drive Partnerships, recognizing the team's commitment to helping the Red Cross.

Fans are being asked to pre-register to donate blood at or by calling 1-800-GIVE LIFE. Most healthy people who are at least 17 years old and weigh 110 pounds or more are eligible to donate blood every 56 days. Sixteen-year-olds can donate blood with parental consent.

Parking for the event is free in Lot S, located off Phillies Drive (near the Majestic Clubhouse Store).
