CLEARWATER, Fla. -- Turns out Billy Wagner's left middle finger will be all right -- in about a week.

The prized offseason acquisition left camp early on Tuesday to have an MRI performed on the finger. Results showed inflammation, but no tendon, ligament or joint damage.

"I don't know what caused it," said Wagner. "I'm in no hurry, so let's just take care of this."

Wagner experienced discomfort after tossing 38 scorching fastballs in a throwing session.
