Kevin Millwood will again try to redirect his subpar season, as things haven't progressed as well as he would have hoped, as the right-hander enters July after his second straight poor month.

Since a solid first month of the season (2-2, 3.38), Millwood is 4-3 with a 5.71 ERA. Three of his six wins have come against the Expos. He'll be needed even more after a 16-inning on Friday night taxed the bullpen.

His previous start came against the Orioles at Camden Yards, and he won by allowing three runs in 7 2/3 innings.

He will be opposed by rookie Erik Bedard, who has never faced the Phillies.

    Quotable
"You get fired if you're doing a good job, or if you're not doing a good job. When players don't play well, the manager takes the heat. That's the way it's always been. That's the way it will always be." -- Larry Bowa, reacting to Bob Brenly's firing in Arizona
