Indians at the plate: It was the Ryan Garko show. The first baseman got the Indians on the board early with an RBI double in the first, and he added a three-run homer to left off Josh Outman in the sixth. Andy Gonzalez also ripped a three-run homer. His came off Travis Blackley in the second inning. Phillies right fielder Greg Dobbs made a leaping attempt to rob the homer and lost his glove in the process. Ben Francisco, continuing his hot spring, had an RBI single and a sacrifice fly.

Phillies at the plate: The Phillies couldn't get anything going until the sixth, when Ryan Howard ripped an RBI double to the gap in left-center field. Dobbs and Carlos Ruiz both hit sacrifice flies with the bases loaded.

Indians on the mound: Fausto Carmona rebounded nicely from a rough spring debut. He held the Phillies scoreless on two hits with a walk and three strikeouts in three innings. Aaron Laffey, one of three candidates for the Tribe's fifth starting spot, was rolling along nicely until his third inning of work, in which he walked four batters and served up Howard's double and a sac fly.

Phillies on the mound: The best that can be said about Blackley's outing was that he got his work in. He was roughed up for five runs on four hits, with four walks and three strikeouts, in just 1 2/3 innings. Clay Condrey worked 1 1/3 innings of scoreless relief.

Grapefruit League records: Indians 4-5-1; Phillies 4-7-1.

Up next: For the first time this spring, the Indians will do the splits Sunday, playing a home game and a road game against the Nationals, with both games starting at 1:05 p.m. ET. In Winter Haven, Fla., right-hander Jake Westbrook will oppose left-hander Matt Chico. In Viera, Fla., left-hander Jeremy Sowers will oppose right-hander Jason Bergmann.

The Phillies are back in Clearwater, Fla., on Sunday for a rare home game in Bright House Field, against the Blue Jays. Kyle Kendrick, roughed up in his first two starts (12 hits, eight runs in 5 2/3 innings), tries it again as he opposes Jesse Litsch. It will only be the Phils' second home game in a nine-game stretch.
