Offense raps 12 hits; Lannan tosses six innings of one-run ball

Braves at the plate: Chipper Jones drove in Atlanta's only run when he doubled down the left-field line to drive in Kelly Johnson in the sixth inning.
Nationals at the plate: In the bottom of the fourth inning, Rob Mackowiak gave the Nationals a 1-0 lead when he singled to left field to drive in Nick Johnson. Two innings later, Austin Kearns drove in a run with a double to right-center field. Two batters later, Ronnie Belliard drove in Johnson with a sacrifice fly to center field. Jesus Flores followed and singled to left field to drive in Kearns.
Braves on the mound: Right-hander Jair Jurrjens gave up four runs in five innings. He struck out three batters and walked one.
Nationals on the mound: Left-hander John Lannan pitched six innings and gave up one run and three hits. He struck out two batters and walked two.
Grapefruit League records: Braves 12-11-1, Nationals 10-14-2.
Up next for the Nationals: Washington travels to Jupiter, Fla., to play the Florida Marlins on Sunday afternoon at 1:05 p.m. ET. Nationals right-hander Tim Redding will face Marlins right-hander Rick VandenHurk. The last time these two teams met was on March 13, with the Marlins defeating the Nationals, 2-1.
Up next for the Braves: Mike Hampton is hoping to pitch six innings when he faces the Astros at Disney's Champion Stadium on Sunday at 1:05 p.m. Hampton has rebounded from the sore groin he experienced early in camp and is moving closer to starting the season in the starting rotation.
