No timetable for Dukes' return
Outfielder currently on Nationals' 15-day disabled list
PHILADELPHIA -- Left fielder Elijah Dukes had an MRI on Monday, and it was revealed that he still has a right hamstring strain. He is currently on the 15-day disabled list, but there is no telling when he'll be back in action.
The Nationals thought about bringing up outfielder Justin Maxwell from Double-A Harrisburg to replace Dukes. Manager Manny Acta is a fan of Maxwell's and said he is not afraid to use him in a platoon situation.
Instead, the Nationals called up another reliever, Chris Schroder, now that Chad Cordero is not available because of right shoulder tendinitis and decided that Willie Harris would see more playing time in left field.
Acta likes the fact that Harris works the count and can play seven different positions. On Monday, Harris went 0-for-4 with a walk against the Phillies.
