Storm postpones Mets-Phils; doubleheader set for Sunday
NEW YORK -- Unsympathetic to the Mets-Phillies rivalry, Tropical Storm Hanna washed away the second game of the three-game series at Shea Stadium.A separate admission day-night doubleheader is scheduled for Sunday, with the first game set to begin at 2:15 p.m. ET. The second game is slated for 8:05 p.m., and will be nationally televised on ESPN Sunday Night Baseball. Jamie Moyer and Pedro Martinez will face off in the first game, while Cole Hamels and Johan Santana will duel in the nightcap. Fans with tickets for Saturday's 3:55 p.m. game may use them for the first game on Sunday. Philadelphia entered the three-game tilt at Shea Stadium trailing by three games in the National League East. The Phillies took the first game on Friday, 3-0, behind eight dominating innings from Brett Myers.
