ATLANTA -- It couldn't last forever.

Phillies shortstop Jimmy Rollins snapped a career-worst 0-for-28 slump with a single to right field in the third inning Thursday night in a 5-2 loss to the Braves at Turner Field. It was Rollins' first hit since June 18, a span of 14 days and 12 games, four of which Rollins did not play.

"I got some hits, so that was good," said Rollins, who went 2-for-4.

Is it a relief?

"Relief?" he said. "From?"

It had been a while.

"Yeah, I know," he said.

Phils manager Charlie Manuel benched Rollins for four games June 25 through Sunday against the Rays and Blue Jays to clear his mind. He went 0-for-9 with a walk upon his return to the lineup before he hit a grounder through the hole.
