ALCS Game 5 sets playoffs ratings mark
Angels-Yanks tilt most-watched postseason game in '09
Thursday's Game 5 of the American League Championship Series on FOX was the most-watched baseball game this postseason, according to Major League Baseball.
Ratings for the Angels' 7-6 win over the Yankees, which staved off elimination for the Halos and forced the series back to New York for a Game 6 on Saturday, were up 49 percent over what MLB considered last year's "comparable game" -- Game 5 of last year's National League Championship Series between the Dodgers and Phillies on FOX. Overall viewership since the final Sunday of the regular season is up 18 percent over last year at this point.
Including the play-in game between the Tigers and Twins that settled the AL Central title, 12 of the 24 games since the end of the regularly scheduled regular season have been decided by one run.
