Phillies Baseball Carpenter Cup starts Sunday, June 10
Over 400 top high school players get chance to compete in front of scouts, college coaches in week-long tournament
The Phillies 27th Annual Baseball Carpenter Cup Classic, recognized nationally as one of the finest baseball tournaments for high school students, will begin on Sunday, June 10, 2012.
Preliminary rounds will be played at Ashburn Field in FDR Park in South Philadelphia until Friday, June 15. The semi-final and championship title games will again be played at Citizens Bank Park on Sunday, June 17 and Monday, June 18. Last year's Carpenter Cup Classic champion was Lehigh Valley.

All games are open to the public. Admission at each location is $5.
The Phillies also host a Softball Carpenter Cup, where top high school softball players get the chance to compete in front of college scouts. This four day, 30-game tournament begins on Monday, June 18, at FDR Park. ABOUT THE PHILLIES CARPENTER CUP CLASSIC
The Phillies Carpenter Cup began in 1986 and continues to be a vehicle to help promote the top area baseball players. Each year more than 400 high school players from the tri-state area are able to showcase their skills in front of major league scouts and more than 220 college coaches. The Carpenter Cup has been a catalyst for many players to receive scholarships or admission to some of the country's finest universities.
