  • Dragon*Con Night: The largest multi-media popular culture convention descends upon Atlanta August 30 - September 2 and the Atlanta Braves will welcome all freaks and geeks at Dragon*Con Night at Turner Field. Festivities include a pregame parade led by Grand Marshall Lou Ferrigno around the warning track (costumes encouraged!), entertainment in Fan Plaza including a show of crazy costumes, a juggling unicyclist and a puppeteer. Lucy Lawless will officially announce the start of the game with "Play Ball!" and Liam McIntyre will throw out the game's first pitch. Bus transportation will be provided from host hotels starting at 4:30 p.m. with the pregame parade starting around 6:00 p.m. A portion of the ticket sales will benefit the 2013 official Dragon*Con charities: Noah's Ark Animal Sanctuary, Georgia Conservancy, and Marcus Autism Center.   • Atlanta Braves Youth Baseball Classic presented by Bank of America: In its fifth year, the Atlanta Braves Youth Baseball Classic presented by Bank of America, will bring together young baseball teams from all across the Southeast to compete in a round robin/bracket style tournament. Held at Wills Park in Alpharetta, GA, the tournament will begin Friday evening with the 5/6 year-old opening up the tournament with the first game at 6:00 p.m.

This year's Youth Baseball Classic will be moving locations to Wills Park in Alpharetta, GA. to accommodate 24 additional teams of ball players ages 5 - 13. Participating teams will meet and take a team photo with a Braves player, participate in a skills competition, receive tickets and participation in a pregame parade for the August 31 Braves vs. Marlins game and receive an official Youth Classic t-shirt and gift bag.

  • Weather Day: The Braves will hold the 4th annual Weather Education Day on Wednesday, September 4th before the 12:00 p.m. game at Turner Field! WSB meteorologists Glenn Burns, Brad Nitz and David Chandley will conduct an hour-long weather education program beginning at 9:30 a.m. in the stadium seats. Students will also have the opportunity to participate in the pre-game parade around the warning track of Turner Field before watching the Atlanta Braves take on the New York Mets.
