CLEVELAND, OH - The Cleveland Indians today announced the following roster moves relative to the Major League roster:

Selected the contract of LHP KYLE CROCKETT (#57) from AA Akron.

Optioned RHP DANNY SALAZAR to AAA Columbus.

Crockett, 22, has compiled an ERA of 0.57 and 6 saves in 15 relief appearances for AA Akron this season (15.2IP, 8H, 1R/ER, 3BB, 17K, .145AVG). He is currently tied for 5th in the Eastern League in saves and has limited left-handed Eastern league batters to a .118 (2-17) average against. All 8 hits allowed this season have been singles. The Poquoson, Virginia native was Cleveland's fourth round selection in the 2013 First-Year Player Draft (111th overall) out of the University of Virginia and is the first member of the 2013 draft class to reach the Major Leagues. He owns a two-year professional ERA of 0.45 in 36 relief appearances (40.1IP, 24H, 3R/2ER, 8BB, 49K, 1.8BB/9.0IP, 10.9SO/9.0IP). Salazar has gone 1-4 with a 5.53 ERA in 8 starts thus far in 2014 (40.2IP, 49H, 25ER, 8HR, 17BB, 47K).
