BALTIMORE -- Rangers first-base coach Bengie Molina picked up an extra single for Alex Rios in the top of the fifth inning on Wednesday night.

Rios, batting with two outs and nobody on base against Orioles starter Chris Tillman, hit a grounder to the left side and third baseman Ryan Flaherty made a terrific diving stop. He then got up and made a strong throw to first base. Rios arrived at the same time as the ball and was ruled out by first base umpire Scott Barry.

Molina thought Rios beat the throw and signaled safe to the Rangers dugout. Manager Ron Washington challenged the call and it was overturned after the review. Rios was given an infield single but was stranded as Leonys Martin grounded out. The Rangers still led 4-1 at that point.
