    The Boston Red Sox today recalled right-handed pitcher Steven Wright from Triple-A Pawtucket. To make room for him on the 25-man roster, right-handed pitcher Noe Ramirez was optioned to Pawtucket.

  • Red Sox announce roster moves

    The Boston Red Sox today announced the following roster moves: Outfielder Shane Victorino was activated from the 15-day disabled list. To make room for him on the 25-man roster, outfielder Jackie Bradley Jr. was optioned to Triple-A Pawtucket. Catcher Blake Swihart was placed on the 15-day disabled list (retroactive to July 1) with a sprained left foot. To fill his spot on the 25-man roster, right-handed pitcher Noe (pronounced "no-EH") Ramirez was selected to the active major league roster. To make room for Ramirez on the 40-man roster, right-handed pitcher Zeke Spruill was designated for assignment.

  • Red Sox activate Hanigan, option Aro to Triple-A

    The Boston Red Sox today activated catcher Ryan Hanigan from the 60-day disabled list. To make room for him on the 25-man roster, right-handed pitcher Jonathan Aro was optioned to Triple-A Pawtucket. Hanigan will be available for tonight's game against the Toronto Blue Jays at Rogers Centre beginning at 7:07 p.m.

    The Boston Red Sox have signed first-round selection Andrew Benintendi, a 20-year-old centerfielder out of the University of Arkansas, the club's first pick in the 2015 June Draft (seventh overall). He is one of five signings announced today by Director of Amateur Scouting Mike Rikard, including the club's second pick, third-rounder Austin Rei (pronounced "RYE"), a 21-year-old catcher out of the University of Washington.

    The Red Sox previously announced that active-duty, retired, and veteran service members will receive special pricing on tickets to games at Fenway Park. The club will also continue the popular "Tickets for Troops" program today, June 25, which gives fans the opportunity to donate their tickets to members of the United States Armed Forces for a select game. Tickets for Troops is presented by Bank of America.
