    Major League Baseball announced tonight that Astros starting pitcher Dallas Keuchel has been named to the 2015 American League All-Star team. The AL and National League pitchers and reserves were announced tonight. Keuchel joins second baseman Jose Altuve and manager A.J. Hinch on the 2015 AL All-Star Team. Altuve was named the AL's starting second baseman last night, while Hinch was named to the AL's coaching staff last month.

  • Altuve elected to start 2015 All-Star Game

    Major League Baseball announced today that Astros second baseman Jose Altuve has been elected to start for the American League All-Star team at second base. This will mark the first time that Altuve has been elected to start an All-Star Game and his third All-Star selection overall (also in 2012 & 2014). The starters for the AL and NL All-Star squads were announced this evening.

  • Astros to Host On-Field Official Army Deployment Ceremony on July 18

    On Saturday, July 18, the Houston Astros and the Astros Foundation will host over 300 military members and their families, as they conduct an on-field official deployment ceremony for Texas National Guard 136th Expeditionary Signal Battalion prior to that day's 6:10 p.m. contest vs. the Texas Rangers.

    The Houston Astros have placed outfielder George Springer on the 15-day Disabled List with a right wrist fracture. To take Springer's spot on the active roster, the club has selected outfielder Alex Presley from Triple A Fresno and has transferred right-handed pitcher Brad Peacock to the 60-day DL. The announcements were made by Astros General Manager Jeff Luhnow.
