This is the second year that Verizon has partnered with the Phillies for the Be a Phanatic About Reading program, which encourages students to spend a minimum of 15 minutes a day reading. Also part of the program, the top performing schools and classrooms receive a visit from the Phanatic, who acts out one of his many books as a teacher or principal reads. Approximately 2,000 classrooms and 60,000 students take part in this unique reading endeavor.
