"She said it's go time," Geoff said.

Such began an odyssey that ended with the birth of Justyce Tyler Jenkins, the couple's second child and first son. Justyce arrived at 3:59 p.m. ET on Wednesday, and Jenkins arrived at the park later in the afternoon, mere hours before his team clinched the National League pennant.

"I was joking that this is a chance for two miracles in one day," Jenkins said earlier Wednesday. "I told her I was going to spray her with champagne."

Justyce arrived 3 1/2 weeks early, perhaps wanting to witness a Phillies clinching party.

After the "tap" from his wife, Jenkins hurried to get transportation to Huntington Hospital. He phoned several people, and no one answered at that hour. The valet wasn't at his station, so he asked the person at the front desk.

Eventually, he secured his rental car and made the five-minute drive to the hospital, arriving around 6 a.m. ET Staying with his wife, he witnessed the birth nearly 10 hours later.

He hasn't had much sleep since.

"That's OK," he said. "The adrenaline will wake me up."
