Phillies 15, Cubs 9
Winning pitcher Larry Christenson (18-6) hits a grand slam, drives in five runs in a seven-inning outing. Shortstop Larry Bowa has four hits, catcher Bob Boone has three RBIs and third baseman Mike Schmidt hits his 38th home run. Tug McGraw allows three runs in the final two innings.

At Pittsburgh, Game No. 161
Phillies 10, Pirates 8
First basemam Willie Stargell hits a grand slam in the first inning. Winning pitcher Randy Lerch (11-8) hits two solo home runs in his five-inning outing. First baseman Richie Hebner has four RBIs, left fielder Greg Luzinski has three hits and three RBIs. The Pirates score four in the ninth, but Ron Reed gets the final two outs.

Phillies 6, Expos 4, 11 innings
Bob Boone's two-out pinch-hit single drives in the tying run in the top of the ninth. Third baseman Mike Schmidt hits a game-winning two-run homer in the 11th, prompting broadcaster Andy Musser's greatest call, "He buried it." Winning pitcher Tug McGraw (5-4) pitches three scoreless innings.

At Chicago, Game No. 160
Phillies 13, Cubs 6
Catcher Bo Diaz goes 5-for-5, including two homers (Nos. 14 and 15), with three RBIs. Second baseman Joe Morgan has four hits and four RBIs, shortstop Ivan DeJesus has three hits. Third baseman Mike Schmidt hits his 40th homer. Winning pitcher Willie Hernandez (9-4) is the second of four Phillies pitchers. Al Holland gets the last five outs.

Second baseman Mariano Duncan has three hits, including a grand slam, and drives in five. Center fielder Lenny Dykstra has four hits and three RBIs, and catcher Darren Daulton has three hits. Winning pitcher Bobby Thigpen (3-1) replaced starter Mike Williams in the seventh. Donn Pall pitches the last three innings.

First baseman Ryan Howard hits his 47th homer and drives in three. Shortstop Jimmy Rollins has two hits, two runs and two stolen bases. The winning pitcher is Jamie Moyer (14-12). Brett Myers strikes out Wily Mo Pena for the final out.

Phillies 4, Nationals 3
Jamie Moyer (16-7) wins the clincher for the second straight year. Center fielder Shane Victorino has three hits, right fielder Jayson Werth hits his 24th homer. Brad Lidge gets his 41st save after shortstop Jimmy Rollins starts a spectacular game-ending double play with the bases loaded.

Sept. 30, 2009
At Citizens Bank Park, Game No. 158
Phillies 10, Astros 3
Seven players drive in a run. Raul Ibanez has three RBIs, including his career-high 34th homer. Jimmy Rollins and Shane Victorino each have two hits and two runs, including back-to-back triples. Winning pitcher Kyle Kendrick (3-1) throws three scoreless relief innings. Brad Lidge records the final out.
