Athletics 4, Mariners 3
Dana Eveland pitches during the first inning Friday.  (John Froschauer/AP)
Frank Thomas' RBI single sparked a three-run first inning, and an eighth-inning double play erased a bases-loaded threat in a win over the Mariners. Dana Eveland lasted into the sixth and Huston Street closed out the ninth for his seventh save in eight chances so far this season.
