After the bats overcame Oliver Perez's struggles, the bullpen couldn't hold the lead, with Sean Green issuing a bases-loaded walk in the 10th. Following back-to-back homers by Daniel Murphy and Ramon Castro, Luis Castillo's single gave New York a short-lived lead.
