Area standouts selected to be 2008 Phillies Ballgirls
Seventeen women from the Delaware Valley have been selected to be 2008 Phillies Ballgirls. The new team is comprised of local star athletes, coaches, teachers and college students, as well as a radio host from 100.3 The Beat, a financial analyst, physical therapist, and recruiter, among others.
"With 600+ candidates for the position, the level of competition during the ballgirl audition process was phenomenal," said Michele DeVicaris, coordinator, Phillies events. "We believe we have selected the best of the best to represent the Phillies both on and off the field." In addition to working the foul lines during home games, the Phillies Ballgirls will continue to take part in various charitable events and softball games. The new ballgirls will make their first community appearance at the Phillies Holiday Sale & Tree Lighting on Saturday, December 8 at the Majestic Clubhouse Store at Citizens Bank Park.
