7/20/2007

On Saturday, Aug. 11, fans are invited to join Garry Maddox at his sixth Annual Barbecue Challenge for charity, beginning at 4 p.m., at Citizens Bank Park along Citizens Bank Way (prior to the 7:05 p.m. game against the Braves). The event is open to the public with free admission and features area restaurants, as well as professionals and amateurs, competing for the top barbecue title.

This year's event will feature celebrity judges and several former Phillies players. There will also be a live band performing.

The Barbecue Challenge is an annual charity event that raises dollars for Maddox's Youth Academics After-School program for inner city children.
