2009 Winners The West Chester University Golden Rams defeated the Wilmington University Wildcats 8-4 in the 9th Annual Bill Giles Invitational championship game at Citizens Bank Park. This is the second consecutive year, and sixth time overall, that the Golden Rams won the elite Division II baseball tournament. The teams were evenly matched the entire game. Home runs by Matt Cotellese and Kevin McGrath put the Golden Rams ahead 3-2 lead heading into the bottom of the 5th inning. Wilmington University evened things up on Mike Godwin's solo home run and took the lead after Jordan Oncay doubled and scored on a single by Phil Aviola.

The score remained 4-3 heading into the top of the ninth inning. After Wilmington recorded the first out, West Chester's bats came back alive. Back to back to back doubles in the top of the ninth by Charlie Kelly, Matt Baer and Joe Wendle helped West Chester reclaim the lead and the championship title.
