Cole Hamels and wife Heidi have supported Home Aid for Africa a local organization which works to alleviate the suffering of HIV/AIDS in Africa. Cole is also planning his first Charity on May 11 to raise funds for a local school.

 Ryan Howard

Ryan Howard has teamed up with Shane Victorino to support Philadelphia Futures, a mentoring program for inner-city students. On April 30, 2009 Ryan and Shane will host, Get in the Game, a charity bowling/billiards event.

Ryan received an Honorary Badge from the Philadelphia Police Athletic League during "PAL Night at the Phillies" in August 2008, recognizing his community service. Ryan also made a $10,000 donation to PAL in 2007.

Ryan Howard Wiffle BallRyan has participated in Jackie Robinson Night the last two seasons as well as the Sound of Philadelphia celebration in June of 2008, during which he presented recording artist Teddy Pendergrass and radio guru Jerry Blavat with a special award.

He has worked with the Make-A-Wish Foundation, granting special wishes for children and teens suffering from serious illnesses. In spring training of 2008, fulfilled the wish of 17-year-old Anthony Bruni of Pottstown, PA, who is battling a brain tumor, by meeting with him in the Phillies clubhouse in Clearwater.

Ryan was part of MLB's 2007 Boys and Girls Club promotional campaign. He recorded a national commercial supporting that organization's efforts.

Ryan Howard Wiffle BallIn 2006, he served as a Spokesman for the Variety Club Children's Charity. He visited the Variety Club Camp and Developmental Center during the season where he played wiffle ball and took photos with the children at the camp, several of whom are disabled. He also hosted a group of Variety Club kids on the field at a Phillies game that season and has participated in that organization's annual charity bowling event.

Ryan has visited several area schools and Recreation Centers, including the Conwell Middle School, A.S. Jenks Elementary School and the Ferko Recreation Center.

Lidge's Legion

Brad Lidge created Lidge's Legion in 2008, which benefits The Children's Hospital of Philadelphia (CHOP). Brad invites 50 patients and their families to enjoy a ballgame each month.

He meets the group on the field during batting practice and gives each child a cap, t-shirt and concessions coupons. Brad and his wife Lindsay have also visited CHOP.

Brad also has pledged money per strikeout to Strikeouts For Troops which benefits war wounded troops being treated at military hospitals nationwide.

On August 26, 2008, Brad made a guest appearance in the Diamond Club to speak to the participants of Phillies Baseball 101 Clinic for Women, which raises funds for Phillies Charities.


 Jamie Moyer

Jamie Moyer was the 2007 Phillies Community Service award winner which recognized his outstanding charitable contributions. Through the Moyer Foundation, Jamie and his wife Karen have been dedicated to helping children grieving the loss of a loved one. Since 2000, the Moyer Foundation has raised more than $16 million to assist over 170 different programs that directly serve the needs of children in severe distress. In 2007, they opened Camp Erin-Philadelphia, a weekend bereavement camp serving children. The Moyers' goal is to one day open a Camp Erin in every Major League City….Last June, the Moyer's Celebrity Waiters event in the Diamond Club raised $450,000 for Camp Erin. On June 15, Jamie will once again host Celebrity Waiters-Philly in the Diamond Club at Citizens Bank Park.

Jamie, a native of Souderton, PA has met with many children prior to games on the field at Citizens Bank Park since becoming a Phillie in 2006.

Jimmy Rollins

Jimmy Rollins has been involved with several causes over the years. In 2007, Jimmy developed JRoll's Aces to give students in disadvantaged areas the opportunity to attend a Phillies game. Students are selected based upon their strong performance or improvement in school. Jimmy meets with students prior to many Phillies games and provides game tickets, t-shirts and food coupons.

Jimmy, an avid bowler, has hosts an annual Celebrity BaseBOWL charity event which has raised over $200,000 for the Juvenile Diabetes Foundation and the Arthritis Foundation.

The fourth annual BaseBOWL tournament is set for August 17, 2009 from 3 p.m. to 7 p.m. Lucky Strike Bowling Alley, 1336 Chestnut Street, Philadelphia, PA. In 2007 Jimmy donated 30 computers to Olney High School in North Philadelphia.

In 2002 he partnered with Philadelphia Reads to begin the JRoll Readers Club. Members receive a certificate, tickets to a game and a chance to meet Jimmy.

Additionally, Jimmy has worked with the American Red Cross, Easter Seals and the Volunteers of America organization.

J.C. Romero

J.C. Romero began a program called "Romero's Rookies" in 2008 which benefits underprivileged youth in the city of Philadelphia and surrounding areas.

J.C. donates tickets to a game, plus treats the group of children to a t-shirt and hot dog and soda food coupons.

J.C. also takes the time to meet many of the kids before the game on the field during batting practice.

Chase Utley hosts Chase's Champs which benefits CHOP and St. Christopher's Hospital. Chase purchases over $20,000 in tickets each season for these children and every home game, a group of young patients and family members of the two hospitals have the opportunity to attend a Phillies game.

Chase also raises funds for the Pennsylvania SPCA. In 2008, Chase and his wife Jen, held their first Utley All-Star Animals casino night fundraiser which raised $200,000 for the shelter. The Utleys are planning their next All-Star Animals event on May 28.

On April 28, 2008 Chase co-hosted "Get in the Game" an annual Bowling/Billiards fundraiser which raised over $150,000 for Philadelphia Futures, a mentoring program for inner city high school students.

Since 2006, Chase has served as Chairman of the Phillies RBI & Rookie League programs which provides inner city kids the opportunity to be involved in organized baseball. Chase has met with members to give baseball tips, answer questions, sign autographs and help hand out gloves to those in need.

Shane Victorino is involved in several community endeavors. On April 30, 2009, Shane will team up with Ryan Howard to once again host "Get in the Game" an annual Bowling/Billiards fundraiser. On April 28, 2008 he co-hosted this event with teammate Chase Utley to raise over $150,000 for Philadelphia Futures, a mentoring program for inner city high school students.

Shane makes several community appearances each year ... since 2007 Shane has visited St. Christopher's Hospital For Children, a free baseball clinic hosted by the Lighthouse, Concilio, the Police Athletic League luncheon and the Boys and Girls Club of Camden, NJ. He has also attended several Little League Opening Day ceremonies, including ones held in Media and Pennridge.

Shane annually attends all of his teammate's charity events; in 2008 this consisted of Celebrity Waiters-Philly (The Moyer Foundation), the J-Roll Celebrity BaseBOWL tournament and Utley's All-Star Animals casino night.

He participates in the "Buses for Baseball" program each year in which players finance buses to bring a kids groups to a Phillies game to meet players. As part of the program, Shane takes part in a training session with the Action Team organization.
