Walkin' in a Winter Wonderland!

If you're out shopping, park far away from the store entrance so you can get more walking in. If a store is close to you, try walking there. If you're able to, use the stairs rather than an elevator or escalator.

Snow Fun!

Love the snow?! Go out and play in it! There's nothing like building a snowman or an old-fashioned snow-ball fight. Great way to stay active during the winter! You can also help out at home or help a neighbor by shoveling any driveways, sidewalks, or walkways!

Stuck Indoors?

If the weather isn't good there are plenty of ways to stay active indoors:

  • Watching TV? Exercise during commercials - jumping jacks, push-ups, sit-ups, lunges.
  • Video-games? If you're flying solo on the video game circuit, stop every 15 mins and walk around the room/house; do some jumping jacks to get your heart rate up. If you're playing a sports game with a friend or two, try some healthy competition with the ones you're playing with - whoever loses has to do 25 jumping jacks; 10 push-ups; and 10 lunges! The winner gets by with only 25 jumping jacks!
  • Clean - Winter is a great time to clean! Turn on some of your favorite music and get going cleaning that room! You may end up turning it into a dance party too!
