Managing and Coaching Career

Bard enters the coaching ranks as the Dodgers' bullpen coach following three years in the club's front office as a special assistant (2013) and professional scout (2014-15)…he was the bench coach for New Zealand's World Baseball Classic qualifier team in February.

Playing Career 

The former backstop played in 10 Major League seasons with the Indians (2002-05), Red Sox (2006), Padres (2006-08), Nationals (2009) and Mariners (2010-11) before finishing his career with the Dodger organization in 2012 as a non-roster invitee and at Triple-A…he appeared in 586 big league games and batted .254/.320/.385…he was originally selected by the Rockies in the third round of the 1999 First-Year Player Draft…Bard was a member of the 1996 18U U.S. National Team, the 1997 and 1998 U.S. National Baseball Teams and the 2001 World Cup Team…Bard was the 1997 Big-12 Conference Freshman of the Year at Texas Tech and was a three time All-American (1997, 1998, 1999).


Joshua David Bard is married to Lindsey and they have three children - Luke, Hannah and Karis…his hobbies include reading, hunting and watching movies
