Series title and Konami Cup championship and three playoff appearances (2004, 2006 and 2007)...was named the
2006 Japan "Sportsman of the Year" by the 2006 Foreign Sportswriters of Japan...served as the Director of Player
Development with the Texas Rangers in 2002...managed in the New York Yankees' minor league system from
1990 to 2001 where he compiled an 855-761 (.529) record, leading his teams to eight winning seasons and four
playoff appearances...began his managerial career at 27 years old with Oneonta (A) in 1990...began his coaching
career in 1989 with Class-A Prince William...began his non-playing career as a scout in the Cleveland organization

Playing career
Played three seasons in the Cleveland Indians' minor league system from 1985-1987 as a middle infielder and third
baseman for the Batavia Trojans, Waterloo Indians, Waterbury Indians and Kinston Indians...signed by the Indians
as a free agent on June 22, 1985.
