Joe Crawford, 45, enters his 13th season with the Brewers after joining the staff in November 2003. Crawford assists the Major League coaching staff with all on-fi eld instruction and game preparation. Key to this is his use of video for coaching, advance scouting and game review. He is also responsible for coordinating information between the coaching and advance scouting staffs. Crawford played 11 years of pro baseball from 1991-2001 as a pitcher in the Brewers, Mets, Diamondbacks and Red Sox organizations. He reached the Major Leagues with the Mets in 1997. Crawford also pitched in Japan from 1998-99 for the Chiba Lotte Marines and served as pitching coach for the Bridgeport Bluefi sh of the independent Atlantic League from 2002-03. Crawford graduated cum laude from Kent State University with a bachelor's degree in fi nance. A native of Hillsboro, Ohio, Joe resides in Willard, Ohio, with his wife, Kara, and daughters, Madelyn and Cassidy.
