There are five Czech players under contract with professional organizations, four of whom were signed out of the Major League Baseball European Academy. The city of Prague hosted a pool of the 2009 World Cup, though the host team struggled and failed to qualify for the second round. Prague also hosted a qualifying pool for the 2010 European Baseball Championship, which the Czech team won with a perfect 4-0 record en route to seventh-place finish overall in the tournament.
